energy, water and waste

let's talk with a book and sunglasses background

As summer approaches and the allure of the beach beckons, it is crucial to bear in mind the impact of our choices on the environment. As a brand, we are aware of our responsibility and take it seriously.

Energy and water

Our attention to energy usage and water management extends through every stage of production — from yarn creation to finished garment.

We work with regenerated nylon yarn suppliers whose closed-loop systems significantly reduce water and energy use compared to conventional nylon made from oil. According to ECONYL®, this process uses up to 70% less energy and relies partly on renewable sources for electricity and heat. They also operate under a formal water policy that commits to treating and responsibly managing water discharges, in line with internationally recognised environmental standards.

Our Italian textile partner operates under ISO 14001-certified environmental management systems and holds OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and OEKO-TEX® RECYCLED certifications. These internationally recognized standards help ensure that fabric production follows strict controls on chemical use, wastewater treatment, and overall environmental impact. Their fabrics allow a considerable reduction in water and energy consumption thanks to the use of solution-dyed yarns and efficient production cycles.

Our swimwear is then produced in Bali in two facilities. Our primary manufacturing partner operates on a hybrid solar system, with approximately 45 % of electricity sourced from on-site solar panels.

Waste

Our sustainable ethos goes beyond using eco-friendly materials and energy sources. We strive for waste reduction, both pre and post consumer.

To reduce pre-consumer waste, we meticulously limit our production runs, ensuring that we only manufacture what we need, therefore minimising excess waste.

For post-consumer waste, we believe in crafting long-lasting, high-quality products that our customers will treasure and wear for years to come. When the time comes for our products to reach the end of their life, we take them back. Currently, we work with TerraCycle® via their Zero Waste Box™ solution to recycle them, preventing them from ending up in landfills or contributing to ocean pollution even further.

Our unwavering commitment to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices throughout our production process is critical. We strongly believe that by carefully managing energy, water and waste, we can do our part.

As you indulge in the delightful search for swimwear this summer, we urge you to select a brand that aligns with your values and is dedicated to investing in a sustainable future. While we hope that our brand resonates with you, we understand that your preferences may vary. Regardless of your choice, we applaud your commitment to responsible shopping and preserving our planet.
