Ethical Conduct Code & Supplier Standards
One of our priorities is to remain conscious of the people behind our creations. As a small business, we currently have no employees, and thus have not yet formalised a fully customised code of conduct.
Nevertheless, we ask all our suppliers to adhere to the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code, which ensures that:
- Employment is freely chosen
- Freedom of association and collective bargaining are respected
- Working conditions are safe and hygienic
- Child labour shall not be used
- Living wages are paid
- Working hours are not excessive
- No discrimination is practiced
- Regular employment is provided
- No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed
Our Ethical Standards for Partners
We expect all manufacturing partners - at every stage of production - to uphold fair labour practices, safe working conditions, and environmentally responsible production. Our suppliers must comply with local labour laws, avoid any form of child or forced labour, and ensure fair compensation. We prioritise long-term partnerships built on mutual respect, transparency, and ethical conduct.
We expect suppliers to work towards payment of a living wage as defined by the Global Living Wage Coalition.
Suppliers must disclose whether subcontracting is used and ensure all subcontractors follow the same standards.
Compliance
Respect for the laws in force in France and in all countries where BORNEO PARIS operates is an essential principle. Our partners are required to comply with the relevant regulatory framework. Any conduct contrary to these laws — whether carried out or attempted — is prohibited.
All activities undertaken on behalf of BORNEO PARIS SAS must comply with the content of this code. By adhering to it, recipients accept responsibility for meeting its standards. Any violations may result in the termination of the contractual relationship.
