Borneo almost didn't happen. The name came from sailing. I grew up in Uruguay, and in Spanish, borneo is the arc a boat traces when anchored at sea. I loved the word. I first tried to build this brand in 2019. It didn't work. The right partners didn't exist yet, or I hadn't found them. I moved around, eventually landing in Paris, and Borneo stayed a dead file on my desktop.

Years later I was in Cassis with friends when it came up. I explained it hadn't worked out. They asked why I wasn't trying again. The conversation was short. The point landed.

I came back to Paris and started over. From an apartment in the 9th arrondissement, I found the manufacturers, chose the fabrics, made the first pieces. Each drop is small on purpose. Nothing is overproduced.

It took five years and one conversation in the South of France to get it right.

There is a version of sensuality that has nothing to do with being looked at.

It's quieter than that. It's the way a piece sits on your body and makes you feel - not how it makes you appear. Borneo is designed for that feeling. For the woman who wants to enhance what is already there, not perform it.

Beautiful. Feminine. Entirely your own.

What Borneo stands for

  • 01.

We make less on purpose. Every drop is controlled. Nothing is produced that isn't needed.

  • 02

We chose Bali because quality at small quantities mattered more than proximity. We'd rather make fewer pieces well than more pieces carelessly.

  • 03.

Timeless design is its own form of sustainability. A piece you wear for multiple summers is worth more than one you replace every season.

How we make it

The details that matter

  • MADE IN BALI

Produced by a small workshop in Bali. We chose them for quality at low quantities - so we never have to overproduce to justify a run.

  • THE FABRIC

Every piece is made from ECONYL® regenerated nylon - Italian fabric produced from ocean waste and post-industrial material. Certified GRS and OEKO-TEX Standard 100.

  • CONTROLLED DROPS

We restock only what sells. Each collection launches in limited quantities and is replenished on demand. Less waste is not a marketing line, it's how we operate.

  • BUILT TO LAST

Designed to be worn season after season, not replaced. Timeless silhouettes, durable construction, no seasonal gimmicks.

  • 1% FOR THE PLANET®

One percent of every sale goes to environmental organisations through our 1% for the Planet membership.

  • RESPONSIBLE PACKAGING

Shipped plastic-free. Packaging is recycled and recyclable. Small details, but they add up.
